Dr. Sara Tanavoli

PERIODONTIST

Dr. Sara Tanavoli, DDS, received an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree (BS) from the University of California, Los Angeles, then attended the University of Southern California School of Dentistry to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001. Three years later, she completed a residency specializing in periodontology (diseases of the gums and jawbone). She was also awarded a Master of Science in craniofacial biology (the face and head) and has been recognized as a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and Implant Surgery (someone who has made significant achievements in her specialty).

Dr Tanavoli has earned a reputation as one of Southern California’s leading periodontologists because of her attention to meticulous detail, which she attributes in part from having grown up in Germany, where an expectation of striving for perfection in professions is part of the culture. She has taught other dentists about the latest techniques and use of advanced materials for tissue regeneration and implant therapy to restore health and function for patients.

In her free time, she enjoys painting, sculpting, learning languages, reading about ancient civilizations, and traveling.
